Privacy NoticeEmmerdale has revealed the shocking aftermath of Belle Dingle’s escape from her abusive husband Tom King after months of torment. Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) were left stunned as they discovered the holiday cottage in Wales, where Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Tom (James Chase), had been staying, in a state of disarray with blood smeared on the walls. A flashback episode that aired on Wednesday night (July 24) shed light on the harrowing events that transpired during their getaway, revealing the extent of Tom’s cruelty towards Belle. From mistreating their dog Piper to constantly belittling Belle, Tom made it abundantly clear that they wouldn’t be returning to Emmerdale after he secured a job at a local veterinary clinic in the secluded Welsh village.

Tom was enraged and tried to chase her down, but she managed to get away on a bus, reports the Daily Star. A sneak peek from Thursday’s (July 25) hour-long episode shows Tom back at the holiday cottage, having failed to locate Belle. He is taken aback when he finds Cain and Charity at the cottage. An enraged Cain pins Tom against a wall, demanding to know his sister’s whereabouts and appearing ready to follow through on his deadly threat.

Tom actor James Chase recently opened up on Lorraine about the challenging plotlines and his admiration for co-star Eden. He said: “With me and Eden, my brilliant co-star, our main goal is to keep eye on the target. There’s some difficult scenes but if we can walk away happy with what we’ve done then that’s good.” When quizzed on how he unwinds after intense shoots, James shared: “Luckily, I’ve been acting since I was 12-years-old. I’ve played other complicated and villainous characters. I’m glad I’ve done that as it helped me coming into this.” He also touched on the emotional toll of filming and added: “There are definitely days when we’re doing a lot of difficult scenes – a lot of manipulating, a lot of gaslighting, especially the physical stuff. But myself and Eden, we know we have to do this story really carefully. We have to keep our focus on getting the scenes right. I think once you’re done is if you’re happy with what you’re done, that’s most important.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
