Privacy NoticeIn an unexpected turn that will leave Emmerdale enthusiasts absolutely gobsmacked, Belle Dingle’s darling dog Piper has been deceitfully portrayed as a goner by her scheming husband Tom. The truth shockingly emerged in Wednesday’s nail-biting episode (21 August), where Tom King played by actor James Chase, cold-heartedly hands Piper over to an unwitting couple under the pretence of offering the pooch a fresh start. Little did they know, they were actually being tricked into taking poor Belle’s (played by Eden Taylor Draper) dog, while she remains oblivious to the fact that Piper is, in fact, still very much alive. Wednesday night’s drama kept fans glued to their TVs as the nefarious Tom used Piper as the newest device in his twisted campaign to dominate Belle.

The situation seemed bleak for the beloved canine in Monday’s heart-wrenching episode (19 August) as a road accident nearly ended in tragedy. This left both Piper clinging to life and Tom, as well as Rhona Goskirk (portrayed by Zoe Henry), fighting to save her, reports the Daily Star. An anxious Belle was on edge, wanting to support Piper, only to have Tom cruelly inform her that their cherished pet had perished. An inconsolable Belle tearfully bid goodbye to Piper, while the vet readied what appeared to be the final injection the dog would ever receive. However, suspicions are starting to swirl for Belle who senses that Tom’s so-called accident may have been far from accidental after all, and she’s piecing together the unsettling realities of his malicious tendencies. Things took a chilling turn as Tom cornered Belle in a menacing showdown, even attempting to persuade her that she had imagined all the abuse.
