Emmerdale has delivered some intense drama this week, and it’s far from over. The double limo crash on the icy lake has sent shockwaves through the village, with the girls’ limo perilously balanced on the ice and the boys reeling from Caleb’s bombshell revelation about Cain’s infidelity with Ruby. While the boys escaped relatively unscathed, the girls are in dire straits. In scenes which aired on Monday night, 17 February, Suzy tragically lost her life after hitting her head in the crash. Charity, Chas, Liam, and Vanessa managed to escape and make it across the icy lake to safety, but Amy Wyatt took a terrifying plunge through the ice, only to be faced with a mysterious body deep in the water. Amy was seen banging beneath on the ice, her hope rapidly dissolving as she sank. As she sank down, a familiar bracelet attached to a corpse’s arm lurked in the murky depths.

Meanwhile, Liam collapsed due to a head injury, sparking fears for his survival, while some residents are still trapped in the limo on the ice.  Martelle Edinborough, the actress who played Suzy, has taken to X, to bid farewell to her character, writing: “And just like that….Suzy is no more and a new chapter begins! ! What an ep! It’s been such a blessing to have been a part of such an iconic show that I grew up on and loved by so many! ! #Journeys.” Martelle’s fans were quick to show their support, with heartfelt messages flooding in, reports the Mirror. One fan lamented: “I actually thought the next ep might’ve showed that Liam had got it wrong, but obviously not! Gutted that you’ve left, Suzy was criminally underused, and I wish we were continuing her story! Onwards and upwards always, hope to see you onscreen again soon! Lotsa love to you.”

Another shared their disappointment: “Nooooo…. I had wanted to see you and Mary get together. All the best wishes in your new chapter.. Suzy will be missed,” while a third chimed in: “going to miss suzy! thank you for being amazing, good luck in all you do.” When Martelle humorously responded to a fan who noted her quiet exit, saying: “Thank you so much lovely! And trust me it’s been hard! Haha I’ve known for a minute lol.” Emmerdale continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on ITV1 and STV or from 7.00am on ITVX
