Privacy NoticeEmmerdale’s John Sugden, played by Oliver Farnworth, has been shown the door from his new job, leaving fans upset. The character, who made a dramatic entrance this year as Jack Sugden’s (Clive Hornby) long-lost son, quickly caused a stir in the village, especially with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). Little did they know, he was actually the brother of Aaron’s ex-husband Robert (Ryan Hawley). Since his arrival, John has become a well-known face in the village, having run-ins with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and getting acquainted with his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins). John even secured a job at Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J. Robb) farm.

However, after a bull attack that led to Mackenzie being rushed to hospital, things went downhill at work. Fans will recall Mack trying to escape by leaping over a locked gate, knocking himself unconscious. Although he regained consciousness, he later collapsed at home and was taken to hospital, reports the Daily Star. Mack was convinced that John was behind the incident due to their ongoing feud. However, John denied any involvement – and during Friday’s episode (August 30), the truth was revealed. Moira remembered that she might have accidentally caused the accident by leaving a gate open. However, despite this revelation, Moira decided to let John go from the farm due to the tension between him and her brother. Viewers were absolutely fuming over Moira’s decision on the show, and they made their feelings known. On X, once known as Twitter, one viewer didnt hold back: “She’s seriously sacking John? ! Mack has a job…at the garage.” Dead-set against the move, another fan reacted: “Moira, keep John, ditch Mack.” Meanwhile, another fan predicted drama ahead: “Moira sacking John – I don’t think Cain will be happy.” Sign up to OK!’s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

Oliver has been a fan favourite ever since he joined the Dales earlier this year, however, many didn’t realise he was actually in Coronation Street years before. Oliver played Andy Carver in Weatherfield from 2014 to 2017 and suffered grisly end at the hands of Pat Phelan. However, he insists fans don’t recognise him from that role anymore. “I’m not really recognised on the street,” reveals Oliver. “But Andy was great to play. He was a fairly troubled character towards the end. I got to die twice, which was nice. Killed by Pat Phelan, which is a badge of honour,” Oliver told OK! Corrie wasn’t his first soap role however, the star also had a part in Hollyoakswhere he starred as Will Hackett in 2006. “Hollyoaks was my first job out of drama school,” confirms Oliver. “I think I lasted nine months on that, which was good, because I was an absolute psycho in that which was fun to play. Will was an extremely troubled character.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
