Privacy NoticeEmmerdale has dropped a major hint that Belle Dingle’s life could be in danger following a chilling scene with Tom King. In the episode on Thursday 25 July, Belle managed to escape from Wales and return home, where she had an emotional reunion with Lydia. However, when she went back to her house to collect her belongings, she found Tom waiting for her. “You are going nowhere,” he told her in a heart-wrenching scene. Despite his threats, Belle stood her ground, telling him: “You can’t stop me.” It was then that Tom issued a terrifying threat, leaving Belle in shock. He warned her: “I will kill you before I let you leave this house,” reports the Mirror. Sign up to OK’s TV newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

Belle remained defiant, warning Tom about the consequences of crossing Cain. She said: “What do you think Cain’s going to do to you? You know the only reason why I haven’t told him is because I don’t want him going to prison for someone like you.” After managing to leave, Belle was later seen at Wishing Well Cottage sitting on a bench, but Tom was seen secretly lurking behind in a sinister way. Meanwhile, actor James Chase, who plays Tom, has spoken out about filming these intense scenes. When asked how he manages to switch off after such heavy material, he shared: “I’ve played other complicated and villainous characters. I’m glad I’ve done that as it helped me coming into this. There are definitely days when we’re doing a lot of difficult scenes – a lot of manipulating, a lot of gaslighting, especially the physical stuff. But myself and Eden [Taylor-Draper], we know we have to do this story really carefully. We have to keep our focus on getting the scenes right. I think once you’re done is if you’re happy with what you’re done, that’s most important.”
Belle has endured abuse from Tom for months
In a candid chat with The Mirror, James dished on his initial reaction to his character’s dark plot, revealing: “When they offered me the part, I knew it was going to be a domestic violence storyline but I didn’t know to what extent. It was a shock at first. It took a bit of getting used to but as an actor, it’s great to play compelling and complicated characters. Yes, it is challenging at times but… for me, it’s just been so important to make sure I get it right.” The gripping scenes have left viewers on tenterhooks, yet James has promised that there will be closure, although he’s keeping tight-lipped about the timing. He teased: “It is good this storyline won’t last forever. I know there will be a finite end but working with everyone on Emmerdale is a dream in itself and I am proud to be part of it all.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
