Privacy NoticeEmmerdale’s Sam Dingle has reached his breaking point with his wayward son, urging him to pack his bags and leave the village for good. But will he take dad’s advice on board? Friday night (12 July) offered a fresh dose of drama in the Dales after Moira Barton and Mackenzie Boyd, played by acting sensations Natalie J Robb and Lawrence Robb respectively, were sensationally cuffed. In an unexpected plot twist that fans of the soap saw coming, Amy Wyatt, brought to life by Natalie Ann Jamieson, dropped the bombshell on Moira that her boy Matty had schemed his own prison ‘attack’ with inmate Les calling the shots. Shattered by her son’s dire situation, Moira sought solace in a fleeting rendezvous with Lydia Dingle (portrayed by Karen Blick), pleading with her for guidance in reaching out to her son Samson one more time.

Bringing up the painful memory of the late Holly Barton, the strong-willed farmer cried out: “I’ve already buried one child”, adding, “please don’t make me bury the other.”, reports the Mirror. This Friday also saw Samson’s mate Josh (played by Osian Morgan) reappear on our screens, laying down a stern warning – snitch, and face the consequences. This sly threat had some audience members convinced that poor Samson could find himself six feet under in an elaborate cover-up scheme. Emmerdale’s latest twist had fans gripped as Lydia Dingle confronted Samson after Moira’s heartfelt appeal, leading to the bombshell that Samson had fabricated his stabbing story. The revelation left Sam utterly disillusioned with his son’s actions, culminating in a heart-wrenching decision for Samson to flee as the episode closed.

The drama follows actor Sam Hall hinting at a poignant exit for his character, amidst swirling rumours of a potential on-screen death earlier this year. While the 20 year old dismissed the speculation of being killed off, he did suggest an upcoming departure could be on the cards. In a candid chat with various media outlets, Sam delved into the emotional turmoil Samson faces, revealing: “[There’s] the emotional side of dealing with the fact that for a couple of years, he won’t be seeing his dad or his step-mum who is like his real mum, and that has an affect on him.” The fallout from Matty’s deceit has seen him become alienated from his family and the Dingles, with even Lydia Dingle clashing with Sam over the stabbing lie, hinting at potential strife in her marriage. Next week’s spoilers suggest that Samson might be on the run for good after his lies become a matter for the police. After confessing at the station, will he end up behind bars?Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
