Privacy NoticeEmmerdale’s Kasim made quite the impression on Finn Barton (played by Joe Gill) when he arrived in the Dales back in October 2016. Actor Ethan Kai made his debut as Kasim after the car crash that almost cost him his life. Finn had been visiting Kasim in hospital after saving his life during the horrific car pile up, but Kasim was in a coma, and it looked touch and go as to whether he was going to make it. But after recovering and arriving in the village, Kasim quickly found himself in a relationship with the taxi operator Finn. Although Ethan left the show a few months later, he’s been busy since, not only appearing in TV shows like Killing Eve, but also the movie Batgirl, which was sadly later shelved.

And now viewers can see the 30 year old actor in The Turkish Detective, a crime thriller set in modern-day Istanbul, starting on BBC2 on Sunday, 7 July. Based on the bestselling Inspector Ikmen novels by Barbara Nadel, the eight-part series sees Ethan playing Mehmet Suleyman, a sidekick of the eccentric inspector himself, played by former EastEnders actor Haluk Bilginer, who played Mehmet Osman on the Square back in the 1980s. But who knew Ethan had an impressively ripped body following a fitness transformation? Over on Instagram, he’s driven fans wild with pictures showing off chiseled abs and bulging biceps. One picture showed a shirtless Ethan posing alongside three other men in the sea in Mauritius. Ethan simply labelled the pic: “Welcome to Mauritius,” but one fan commented: “Welcome to that body!” while another said: “Now there’s are group I’d be happy to swim out to.”
