The statement comes after she worried fans by saying she’d “never been so ill.” As symptoms worsened, she announced she’d be taking a break from Instagram, and she’s now returned to issue a lengthy and heartfelt statement. “Hi everyone, I wanted to update you following my recent illness and hospital stay. Since the start of last year, my overall health, and weight, for some time, has not been something I have treated as a priority but that has now changed,” she wrote on her Instagram story on Friday night (12 July).

“I have been taking the time to rest and recover as advised by my medical team. I also want to take this opportunity to also thank the NHS and Weston General for looking after me. “Whilst I am usually an open book, on this occasion when it comes to my medical recovery, I will take my time before giving more details as I am still awaiting some test results and would request privacy during this period.” The reality star then reassured followers, as she wrote: ” “To reassure everyone, I am slowly on the mend and on the path to recovery. Concluding, she said: “I cannot wait to get back to work full-time, and of course, filming CGD. I am taking a few more days to rest and recover but I will be attending Bristol Pride tomorrow for my speech at 4pm, something I am so passionate about and cannot wait to see many of you there to celebrate my hometown Pride. Thank you again, and love you all, Ella x.” It wasn’t Ella’s first health scare. She also made headlines when she unexpectedly collapsed at the BAFTA Awards earlier this year. A medic was on hand to help her on the red carpet as she bounced back quickly and calmed concerned fans. She attributed her fall to overheating and weakness. Updating her followers after the scary ordeal, the reality star said: “To everyone asking how I am after my Baftas ‘collapsing’ incident… I am perfectly OK now, I was just very hot, my body had overheated and felt weak, I hadn’t eaten enough or drank enough that was all, hence why I was very lightheaded and felt faint.” “I was fine after I’d seen the medic, sat down, and been checked over! All good here now folks, lesson learnt, drink more water!
