It’s an emotional night in EastEnders tonight, as baby Charli is rushed to hospital due to Harvey Monroe’s (Ross Boatman) detrimental error. It’s been a tough time for Jean Slater and Harvey, who is working to the bone to earn money for Maya Houssain (Bharti Patel). After an argument with Jean after not returning home last night, Harvey is determined to get back into her good books, offering to give Stacey a helping hand, by picking Charli up from nursery. However, things take a turn for the worst when the baby is rushed to hospital. As a tired Harvey falls asleep in the hot car with Charli in the back, grandad Jack Branning happens to spot them just in time, as he rushes Charli to the hospital, as Lily unleashes her anger at Harvey.

Charli, the daughter of Lily Slater and Ricky Branning was born in September 2023, shortly approaching her first birthday. Charli’s birth went viral online, as Lily and Ricky revealed they had named their daughter after Charli XCX, and not Charlie Slater, who passed away in 2016. The viral clip quickly caught the attention of the singer herself, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter to write: “Shout out my gays in the writers room!” EastEnders story producer Kyri Zindilis replied to the tweet at the time, as she wrote: “It’s a pleasure Miss XCX”.

There’s trouble elsewhere in the square as Reiss Colwell and an oblivious Sonia Fowler’s engagement party takes a turn after they’re arrested for the murder of Reiss’ ex wife, Debbie. As Sonia protests Reiss being taken away for the murder, it was revealed they would both be arrested to the sheer shock of the rest of the party goers. Speaking on the scenes, Natalie Cassidy previously revealed to OK! And other press: “Sonia is having a really nice time, but then the police turn up. To her, it seems whatever she does, something rains on her parade. there’s a shock when the police tell them Debbie has been murdered, and they both get arrested.” Sonia and Reiss have been on a dramatic journey together, which doesn’t look like it’ll be slowing down any time soon. On the storyline with Jonny Freeman, Natalie revealed: “It’s been great.
