Privacy Notice Tamzin Outhwaite has taken on a brand new role in the Channel 5 drama, playing the character of Sylvie in the six-part drama. And the show features a number of steamy sex scenes, with former EastEnders star Tamzin admitting she was happy to ‘get on with it’ when it came to filming them. Assuring she is ‘not prudish’, Tamzin explained that she had no problem with the steamy scenes and worked with intimacy coordinators for the first time to film them. “You know, someone saying: ‘Is it okay Tamzin if he touches you there?’ and I’d be like: Yeah, just get on with it, let’s take our clothes off and do it’ because you want it to be authentic,” she told The Sun’s TV Mag.

“You don’t want it to look robotic and choreographed,” added Tamzin. Known for her role of Mel Owen in EastEnders, Tamzin continued that she was happy to see the female characters shown in a sexual light. She added: “That was quite new for me, having an intimacy coordinator, but I love the fact that you see the girls doing that. You don’t actually see the women naked, but you see them in a sexual light, which I thought was quite welcome, really.” The new series is set in Malta and also features Jo Joyner, famous for her role as Tanya Branning in EastEnders, and Coronation Street’s Angela Griffin, known for her turn as Fiona Middleton. The series charts the story of sisters-in-law Sylvie, Beth (played by Jo), and Natasha (played by Angela) as they embark on their yearly getaway to Malta, except this time, circumstances have dramatically changed.

Sylvie is embracing single life, Natasha is secretly battling financial woes, and their friend Annabelle (portrayed by Christine Bottomley) has been mysteriously absent since vanishing on the island the previous year. Despite the police believing that Annabelle had an accidental fall from a cliff after discovering her phone at the scene, the group suspects there’s more to the story. Tamzin recently detailed that she also relates to her character on a personal level. “Sylvie talks about the fact that she’s having a midlife crisis. I don’t think she really is. I think she’s having a rebirth post divorce and this is the beginning of her new life. So I could really relate to that,” Tamzin admitted, reflecting on her own life after her divorce from Lucifer star Tom Ellis, with whom she shares children Flo, 16, and Marnie, 12.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
