Privacy NoticeEastEnders star Jaden Ladega has taken to Instagram to share sad family news as he tells his fans, “This is hard to put into words.” The soap actor is best known for playing Denzel Danes on the BBC show, having made his debut back in August 2022 as the son of Howie Danes and Delilah Danes. On Sunday 20 October, Jaden told his Instagram followers that his aunt Marie had passed away. Posting a photo of her to the platform, Jaden wrote: “This is hard to put into words. My great Aunty Marie was a true fighter and great women she will be missed deeply by me and all my family she always pushed me to do well and supported me Rest in Peace Aunty Marie.”

Jaden’s EastEnders co-stars comforted him in the comments, with his on-screen step-mum Tameka Empson writing: “Sorry for your loss Jaden. May your Aunt Rest in Peace. She will always be remembered by you and your family and you continue your make her proud. She saw you grow up in to a fine young man. Love to you and your family.” Earlier this year, Jaden was involved in a huge storyline on the soap – with Denzel being arrested and accused of supplying Class C drugs that resulted in Nugget ending up in hospital. The teen character became addicted to anabolic steroids after becoming obsessed with exercise – culminating in a tense chat with Denzel and his parents. Back in July, Jaden took a well-deserved break from the soap to soak up the rays in Turkey – and many holidaygoers didn’t realise who they were sharing a pool with until spotting his Instagram photos. Jaden shared photos of his holiday on social media, writing: “Had some mad nights here.”

The comments soon filled up with fans who had stayed in the same place, with one writing: “Just come back yesterday from holiday I was with a lovely boy so so lovely only just found out who he is,” with another adding: “Omg my sister sent me a selfie of you and her on holiday, said your staying in the same hotel, so jealous.” Another image, from Maramis in Turkey, saw Jaden looking contemplative next to a some beautiful blue water and a glimpse of a boat. The actor shared: “Mamaris you’ve been great! This week while being in Mamaris I have had a lot of time to reflect on everything in my life that I am grateful for.
