Privacy NoticeEastEnders fans reckon they’ve cracked the mystery of who sent Linda Carter (played by Kellie Bright) that chilling letter. Ever since Christmas, when she offed Keanu Taylor (played by Danny Walters), Linda’s been in a state of distress. As viewers will recall, Linda stepped in and stabbed Keanu to stop him from killing Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean). Even though Keanu’s no longer a physical threat, his death didn’t put an end to their nightmare. The remaining members of The Six – Kathy Beale, Suki Panesar, Denise Fox and Stacey Slater – helped cover up the murder by getting rid of Keanu’s body in the Bridge Street Cafe. In classic soap fashion, his body was eventually discovered under the floorboards. However, the women managed to dodge any punishment for the crime by pinning Keanu’s murder on Linda’s rapist, Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo).

EastEnders star left homeless after being kicked out in controversial row

This week on the soap, Linda, who’s now back on the booze, was left shaken after Fraser, a friend of Dean’s, confronted her with a proposition. In return for her retracting her statement accusing him of Keanu’s murder, Dean would confess to raping Linda, reports the Express. In a shocking twist, Linda agreed to the deal, much to the shock of The Six. During Wednesday’s episode (August 7), Linda met with Dean’s mate to sign the statement in exchange for Dean’s confession. The drama on EastEnders ramped up as Linda Carter, portrayed by the fabulous Kellie Bright, was left in shock after her scheme hit a major snag due to an unexpected arrest. Her plans unravelled as Jack Branning, played by the charismatic Scott Maslen, arrived with the police to nab Fraser for blackmail, leaving Linda distraught.

Linda’s world was further shaken when she learnt that it was her own son, Johnny Carter (brought to life by Charlie Suff), who had tipped off the cops, hoping to stop her from withdrawing her statement against Fraser. The suspense didn’t stop there; at nightfall, as Linda was closing up the Vic, she encountered a spine-chilling sight: a mysterious white envelope labelled with her name waiting ominously on the bar. Upon opening it, she found a note that sent shivers down her spine: “I know what you did at Christmas. Liar!” This twist sent EastEnders aficionados into a frenzy, sparking wild theories about the identity of the enigmatic author. Fans flooded a Facebook fan group for EastEnders with speculation and one viewer pondered “Any ideas who sent Linda that note?I’m going with Johnny!”. This guess gained popularity, with others considering it might be a move by Johnny to confront his mother about her drinking issues. Another speculated: “It’s gonna be someone close. I reckon Johnny. I hope it isn’t her son, but maybe he’s done it to try make her sober up,” while a third fan deduced the possibility of Johnny or perhaps even Jack trying to manipulate Linda ahead of the trial so she’d falter as a witness.
