Privacy NoticeEastEnders fans were left seething on Wednesday night (July 24) when Tommy Moon rang the police on his mum Kat Slater after he hit her. On Tuesday (July 24), the BBC One soap unveiled a heart-breaking twist for Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) as her son Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) violently lashes out at her. Tommy’s anger reached boiling point when Kat and her ex-husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) failed to repair their fractured relationship, leading him to express his wish to live with Phil despite the family’s break up. However, when Kat spits some harsh truths about Phil, Tommy reacts with fury, hitting his mother in the stomach. In response, Kat pushes her son away, only to receive a stern warning from him. During the latest visit to Walford, Tommy’s volatile streak continued when the teenager refused to go on holiday with Kat, his dad Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) and his siblings, reports the Daily Star.

When Kat asked Tommy to get ready for the caravan trip, Tommy explained to his mum that he was still angry after she had hit him. Defending herself, Kat stated that she had push him after he punched her before adding: “I shouldn’t have shoved you, I’m sorry.” The 13-year-old continued to make Kat feel guilty despite her being bruised and in pain from his attack. “You ain’t getting an apology”, Tommy said through gritted teeth as Kat clapped back reminding him that he had punched her first. Kat then threatened to get social services involved as Tommy refused to go on holiday, leading to the whole trip being cancelled. Later, Alfie set up a kids club for Bert and Ernie in the Square. As Tommy watched his brothers having fun, he decided to make a phone call. Alone in the hallway, Tommy called the police and confessed: “My mum has been hitting me.”

EastEnders viewers were outraged by Tommy’s manipulative behaviour and quickly took to social media to vent their frustration. One viewer posted on Twitter: “This made my blood boil. Kat barely touched Tommy and she only nudged him because he punched her first. She acted out of retaliation. I wonder how Alfie will react when he finds out the truth. #EastEnders.” Another fan commented: “#Eastenders Tommy is a future thug. Horrible repulsive kid.” A third chimed in: “I cannot stand Tommy, he is a vile little creature #Eastenders.” “Tommy reporting Kat. Have you ever wanted to punch a fictional child through the screen? ? Because I’m considering it. #Eastenders”, another added.
