Privacy NoticeJaden Lageda is fast becoming an EastEnders icon. Having played the role of Denzel Danes since arriving in Albert Square in August 2022 as Delilah and Howie Danes’ son, Denzel’s journey has been a rollercoaster, from dealing with school bully Logan to his budding romance with Amy Branning, not to mention his near-fatal car crash escapade with Kim. And on Thursday, 4 July viewers were gripped as Denzel was arrested and accused of supplying Class C drugs in the ongoing bodybuilding steroids storyline that saw poor Nugget end up in hospital. Born on October 28, 2005, in Sutton, Surrey, 18 year old Jaden honed his acting chops at Richard Challoner School in New Malden, London, where he was a regular in school plays. His passion and talent didn’t go unnoticed; in June 2022, he was awarded for his outstanding contributions to the drama department.

The actor shared: “Mamaris you’ve been great! This week while being in Mamaris I have had a lot of time to reflect on everything in my life that I am grateful for. While looking out into the sea I reflected on how grateful I am for all of my family and friends and everyone that has an impact on my life without any of these people I wouldn’t be who I am today.” Jaden’s EastEnders co-star Bobby Brazier, who plays Freddie Slater in the soap, commented: “Lovely words young man.” Again fans expressed surprise at running into the young celebrity, with one person commenting: “Hi I didn’t even relize who u was wen we was on hoilday with u we r the Liverpool couple who u spoke to every day yr a lovely lad xxx.”

The BBC soap has been working with a charity called WithYou, as well experts with lived experiences, to develop the storyline about steroid use and self-esteem issues. Chris Clenshaw, the executive producer of EastEnders, said: “It was imperative for us to work alongside WithYou and individuals with lived experiences of steroid usage to accurately present and portray Denzel’s storyline.” “Jaden’s performance has thoughtfully portrayed the isolating realities of a steroid dependency as we explore how social media has an impact on his perception of body image and the effects that anabolic steroid misuse are having on the youth of today.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
