Matt, 37, who hails from London, made his first television appearance in 2000 and has gone on to appear in numerous shows, but he remains best-known for playing Dean in EastEnders. His character is currently imprisoned in the soap after a brief return. When beginning his acting career, the soap star opted to adopt Matt Di Angelo as his professional name. Matt’s full name is Mario Angelo S Constantinou. His parents, Josephine Constantinou and Stavros Constantinou, are of Irish and Greek descent respectively. It’s unknown why Matt switched up his name, but it is common in the showbiz industry for stars to take on a different moniker. Matt, who studied at Boden Studios and Sylvia Young Theatre School, is one of four children. He has two brothers, George and Dino, as well as a younger sister Demitra. Demitra has featured on his social media on a handful of occasions, with the siblings appearing to share a close bond. On Demitra’s birthday, Matt penned a loving tribute to her alongside several snaps, including a throwback of the pair in their younger years. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIL SIS!!!” Matt wrote. “We love you so much, thank you for being the best sister and an AMAAZZZIINNGG auntie!!”

He welcomed his son – Raphael Errol Constantinou – and daughter – Daphne Demitra Constantinou – in August 2022 with wife Sophia, who is a wedding planner. Matt and Sophia began dating in 2014 and the EastEnders star proposed to her in 2019 during a holiday to the Dominican Republic. The pair then tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at The Dorchester Hotel in London in 2021 Prior to settling down with Sophia, Matt was also briefly linked to his Strictly Come Dancing partner Flavia Cacace after the pair were partnered during the 2007 series. Thanks to working in such close proximity, romance soon blossomed between the pair, with the couple dating for around three years before work schedules forced them to part ways.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
