Privacy NoticeEastEnders has dropped a bombshell that Sonia Fowler and Reiss Colwell are set to be arrested for murder. Reiss, played by Johnny Freeman, has been struggling with financial woes after falling behind on his wife Debbie’s care home bills. Fans will remember that Debbie ended up in a coma following a stroke in the bath. With his partner Sonia Fowler, portrayed by Natalie Cassidy, expecting their child, the pressure on Reiss has only increased. In a shocking turn of events, he resorted to killing Debbie. In a chilling scene, Reiss suffocated his wife with a pillow, unaware that Sonia had visited Debbie earlier and helped her adjust in bed. Adding to his list of wrongdoings.

Reiss also swindled Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) out of a hefty sum of money recently. He fabricated a story about a bogus investment scheme for their business, which Sharon fell for, reports the Daily Star. However, Phil is now demanding his money back, and EastEnders spoilers for the upcoming week suggest things are about to get even more dramatic. As the week begins, Reiss is a bundle of nerves as he faces Phil’s deadline for his money. He tries to persuade Sonia to take a day off to escape, but she declines. Sonia is moved when Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) offers to host an engagement party for her. Later, an enraged Phil shows up at their doorstep, forcing Reiss to confess to Sonia that he was supposed to repay him today but can’t.

Teddy Mitchell and Sharon step in to defuse the situation, with Sonia managing to buy them some time by pleading with Sharon. However, Teddy decides to shoulder Phil’s debt. Later, Sonia is anxious about her eight-week viability scan and is taken aback when Sharon reveals that Teddy has taken on the debt, something Reiss hasn’t told her. At the scan, Sonia confronts Reiss, telling him it’s crazy to strike a deal with someone they barely know.

Upon their return to the Square, Martin Fowler (James Bye) privately warns Reiss that the police have been asking questions about him and Debbie. Back at home, Reiss suffers a panic attack and Sonia attempts to soothe him. They head to The Vic for their engagement party, but the celebrations are cut short when the police arrive and arrest both Sonia and Reiss for Debbie’s murder. The couple are soon interrogated by detectives, who possess physical evidence that Debbie was murdered.
