Despite keeping his job under wraps, Lewis has no qualms stepping out with Clair for glam events like The British Soap Awards. Clair is also tight with her EastEnders co-stars, including on-screen mum Lorraine Stanley (who played Karen Taylor), who she fondly refers to as her “second mum”. Lorraine left EastEnders for good in June. In a chat with OK! a few years ago, Claire gushed: “It’s a cliche but we are like a family. And that’s been from the start, we just bonded straight away. Lorraine [Stanley, who plays Karen Taylor] is like a second mum.”

“It is important that we show the mother and daughter relationship and Lorraine is genuinely such a lovely person so it’s made it easier to be close to someone. I go to her about stuff that’s happening off set as well. I’m also tight with the younger members of the cast, we hang out together outside of work.” When Clair stepped out at the British Soap Awards in 2023, she couldn’t have looked more different from Bernadette, dressed in a blue sparkly gown adorned with mesh material and glittering details. Clair accessorised her ensemble with a pair of matching coloured heels and a simple clutch bag. The actress styled her blonde highlighted locks into a glossy blow-dried updo and she added a slick of stunning make-up.
