Privacy NoticeEamonn Holmes has escaped busy London amid a tough time in his personal life, as he told his fans he’s ‘heading North.’ The GB News star took to social media to post a snap of himself in a car on the M25 towards Heathrow as he headed away from the South. Eamonn, who recently admitted he is “not ok” amid his divorce from Ruth Langsford and crippling health issues, told his fans: “Heading North. Have a good day.” He then engaged with people in the comments section as he responded to fans’ concerns that he was posting on social media while driving. One person said: “You shouldn’t be on your phone whilst driving,” to which he hit back: “If only I could drive.” Another added: “Have a good day Eamonn. I wish that people would just let you and Ruth get on with your lives. And to the person who said don’t be on your phone when driving, I would imagine Eamonn has hands free in his car or someone else is doing the driving,” to which the former This Morning star said: “Correct x.”

A third penned: “Watched you since day 1 on breakfast TV. Hate all the nasty news about you and Ruth. Just hope you are both ok – doesn’t matter what it’s about – just as long as you are ok. Have a good day! You have always brightened my mornings,” with Eamonn commenting back: “God Bless U. Very kind of you.” It comes as Eamonn told the Daily Mirror: “I’m not OK. This is not a good time at all,” when asked about his marriage split from Ruth Langsford, 64, announced in May, and his health issues. When questioned about the future of his relationship with Ruth, Eamonn said: “It’s too early to say, but I hope we can still be friends.”

Eamonn also revealed he feels like he is living on “borrowed time” amid a battle with severe chronic back pain, which has seen him using a walking aid and a high-tech wheelchair. He recently shared during a GB News segment that he is now “basically disabled” and has been relying on the help of carers. Eamonn shared: “I have been basically disabled for a year and a half or so, and I have to have a carer to do the smallest, simplest things. It’s humiliating and humbling, but thank goodness that carers are available.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
