Privacy NoticeStrictly Come Dancing’s Luba Mushtuk seemed to have checked out before her time was up, with fans claiming she put “no effort” into her dance off, leading to her and Nick Knowles’ departure from the show. Viewers were left stunned when Nick, 62, and his professional dance partner, Russian-British Luba, were eliminated from the BBC programme on Sunday (13 October). Despite battling through injuries, Nick’s exit came as a surprise to many. As seasoned Strictly viewers will know, the live show is taped on Saturday evening, with the results show filmed immediately afterwards, but not broadcast until the next night, which unfortunately opens the door to spoilers.

Even though they shared a strong connection, it appeared to viewers that Luba had resigned herself to the fact that their journey was coming to an end, sparking discussions on platforms like X and Reddit about their performance. One social media user commented: “Luba’s already accepting defeat,” while another critiqued her lacklustre performance in the dance off, saying: “Luba made no effort in that dance off whatsoever. She’s over it.”, reports the Mirror.
Some were shocked that Nick got the boot

Another chimed in: “Literally, she was basically walking at the end!” Someone else tried to rationalise her attitude: “She’s probably got the worst actual dances to dance offs ratio on the show so you can hardly blame her.” Others felt disappointed by the decision to vote Nick and Luba off. A fan expressed disbelief: “I can’t believe Nick is gone after all of that.” Another shared their dismay: “Omg NOT Nick! ! ! ! He was only just back and now he’s gone.” Another expressed: “I love Shayne but I think Nick should have stayed.” Another fan of Strictly shared, “Sad to see Nick go but Shayne deserved to stay. Nick certainly didn’t have an easy time on the show.”

Meanwhile, another supporter was full of encouragement saying, “You’re a star for forging on, others may of given up! It’s been great watching your behind the scenes clips. You and Luba made a great team.” Talking to Tess Daly post-performance, Nick reflected, “I’ve really, really been surprised by how much I’ve loved doing it and by two things that happen. One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don’t want to let down your partner.” He went on to praise his dance partner profusely: “The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba’s changes, she’s been amazing.” Luba then responded warmly, highlighting his dedication: “I’ve never met someone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you’ll be very happy. I think you did more than your best. Thank you.”
Nick and Luba were unable to dance the week before due to Nick suffering an injury
At 62, Nick has admitted that training for Strictly was one of the hardest challenges he’s faced. Via Instagram, next to a selfie with Luba in their most recent performance, he bid farewell, “Well, that’s the end of the road for me on @bbcstrictly. But after the injury last week, getting back on the dance floor felt like a win in itself.” “Gutted I couldn’t stay longer to bring the amazing dances super talented @lubamushtuk had planned to life, but it’s been a fantastic journey. Wishing the best of luck to all the competitors – they’re such a lovely bunch. It’s been a lot of fun, and a reminder that it’s never too late to try something new.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
