Dermot, affected by the solar splendour, strayed from the script by chatting to Friday’s guest Gyles Brandreth to express his admiration for the gleaming statue outside the Television Centre. Dermot enquired, “That’s Atlas, isn’t it?” to which Gyles affirmed, “It is! Looking magnificent.” In a moment of reflection, Dermot took his time relishing the backdrop, requesting Alison’s permission to just absorb the beauty of the day. He even beckoned the crew for a wide shot to showcase the studio basking in the vibrant sunlight. Dermot’s stroll down memory lane led him to a tenderhearted revelation of emotions as he pondered his personal achievements.

So much TV has happened from here.” The host reflected, “If someone had told me as a kid that I would be sat outside, presenting with one of my best buddies, you know, 30 years down the line…” He fondly reminisced about the beginning phases of his career, saying, “I used to get the train from here, I was a runner for a production company. It used to go past and I would dream about working here.” Alison, his co-host, couldn’t help but react warmly to his sentiment, expressing a heartfelt “Aww!” This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and ITVX.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
