As they waited for the next contestant to take the stage, the duo grabbed their guitars and delivered an impromptu performance that left fellow coaches Tom Jones, Will.i.am and LeAnn Rimes spellbound. Following their performance, the long-time friends received a roaring round of applause from the audience before the next singer took to the stage. Viewers at home were equally thrilled and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their reactions. One viewer tweeted: “Where do we start the petition to get @TomFletcher @itsDannyJones, @DougiePoynter and @mcflyharry to release the @mcflymusic version of @thebackstreetboys “I Want It That Way”?! @thevoiceuk #TheVoiceUK.” Another fan wrote: “I need the @itsDannyJones and @TomFletcher version of I Want it that way released ASAP so I can listen to it on repeat #thevoiceuk”, reports the Mirror.

Danny has previously lent his expertise to The Voice Kids, but this marks his first appearance on the main show. Joining them as a new face is US singer LeAnn Rimes, who made her debut this season. The only constants in the coaching line-up are Will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones, who have been part of the show since its inception, appearing in all 13 series. The duo first graced the show in 2012, alongside The Script’s frontman Danny O’Donoghue and singing sensation Jessie J.
