Privacy NoticeDancing On Ice queen Vanessa Bauer, who previously won the show and has five runner-up finishes under her belt, is set to make a major career move. While gracing the ice with her skills on the hit ITV competition, the professional skater has been mastering the art of something completely different, and she’s soon ready to take the leap. For the last eight years, the 28 year old has been taking acting lessons, another great passion of hers away from the ice. She’s now revealed that all her time in acting lessons is starting to pay off, and we could be seeing her on the small screen very soon.

Speaking to The Sun, Vanessa shared that she had “so many things coming up” and didn’t let on if she’d be appearing in the new series of Dancing On Ice or not, which typically launches in January. She then revealed to the publication, giving an insight into her new career move: “You will actually see me act soon enough as well, which I’m very excited about. I’ve been doing acting training for as long as I could think, and everything is now coming together.” She added: “So yeah, there’s a few projects in the works that have nothing to do with ice skating, and it’s very exciting.” Vanessa shared her passion for acting and said she wants to “inspire” and “empathise” with the lives of the characters she might be playing and their “struggles”. “So eventually, I do want to work up to a standard where I can take on very difficult and inspiring characters that will hopefully help a generation as well,” the pro skater added. One film cited by Vanessa includes She Said, which is based on the book.

The talented star added that she’s done acting training “continuously for four years” but started again when she joined Dancing On Ice, meaning she’s got eight years of acting behind her. Earlier this year, Vanessa finished Dancing On Ice in second place with Made In Chelsea star Miles Nazaire. No stranger to the top spot, Vanessa has reached the show’s final five times and even won the competition in 2018, with Jake Quickenden.
