Away from Coronation Street, Peter is in a relationship with with caring nurse Amy Shawcross. The pair have reportedly been dating for six years, having started their relationship in 2018. Peter occasionally gives a glimpse into his and Amy’s relationship on social media. The couple enjoyed a cosy getaway to the Lake District in February to celebrate Paul’s birthday. The 39-year-old captioned the image: “Me and my girl #LakeDistrict #BirthdayWeekend.” The pair looked super loved-up as they enjoyed some quality time together. Amy and Peter share a son together named Ayden. Back in 2022, Peter also shared a sweet Instagram post to celebrate their four-year anniversary. He posted a cute couple’s photo taken at The Railway Inn in Greenfield, writing: “4 years ago we had our first date in this same pub! Love you”.

The exact date Peter will be leaving his role as Paul on Coronation Street is yet to be confirmed, but the upcoming one-off episode focusing on Paul appears to hint his exit could be sooner rather than later. Paul’s condition has continued to deteriorate, having most recently started to lose his speech. Speaking about the upcoming episode, actor Peter said: “I feel incredibly proud to have worked on this episode. From the moment I read the script I knew it was going to be something really special (mostly because I couldn’t stop crying!) I loved being able to record Paul’s inner thoughts, showing us the mind is still 100%, even with MND. I hope the audience enjoys it, as everyone involved gave their all!”

The hour-long instalment will take viewers on an emotional journey as Billy and Paul enjoy a special day together, revisiting old places and spending time with loved ones.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
