Privacy NoticeCoronation Street star Lucy Fallon has hit back at followers who have weighed in on her glam makeup transformation. The actress, who plays the role of Bethany Platt on the ITV soap, faced criticism after showcasing her new look in a video. The 28 year old actress took to Instagram on Sunday, 7 July to share her makeup routine, which led to some unsolicited advice from followers. One comment read: “That’s a lot of make up, your naturally attractive anyway, don’t need it!” A second said: “Wow that’s a lot of makeup” and a third added: “Honestly you look perfect without.” While people complimented the star, followers couldn’t help but voice their opinion as another penned: “You don’t need all that! You are naturally gorgeous.”

“Totally gorgeous without any of it”, one commented. “To much make up your beautiful without it”, another said. “Lucy, you really don’t need all that makeup you are totally gorgeous without it”, someone else mentioned. Unfazed by the remarks, Lucy took to her Instagram stories to repost the video with a caption defending herself. She wrote: “Ppl (women lol) are SO triggered at me wearing makeup. Maybe I LIKE making an effort when I get the opportunity to. Sorry if you don’t xx.”

Others made sure to support the Corrie actress and told her not to take notice of the comments. One said: “If she wants to wear a little or a lot of makeup then let her, end of the day it doesn’t affect anyone but herself and she can do what she wants and I am pretty sure she will have many days when she doesn’t want to wear makeup or wants to as she enjoys too.” A second also wrote: “Lucy ignore these comments and do you. Makeup makes us feel better, and we enjoy doing it. Don’t worry about what others say/think, keep doing you princess. You look amazing!” In other news, Lucy opened up about her nerves concerning her return to the cobbles on ITV’s Lorraine. Despite leaving in early 2020 and returning this January, she admitted that coming back was the “best decision” she’s made, even though she worried about being forgotten by fans.

Lucy returned to Coronation Street in January as Bethany Platt

She shared on Lorraine in December: “The best decision I’ve ever made was to go back, it’s the best to work and some of my best friends work on that show. “I’m just so happy. It was [nerve-wracking], it was like the first day back at school. I’d had nearly four years away from the show and then going back I was like ‘Am I going to remember my lines? ‘, ‘Are people gonna remember who I am? They might be like ‘Who is this girl?'”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
