More infoJoin us on WhatsApp Coronation Street is set to say farewell to several characters, and some have already departed. Fans said goodbye to relative newcomers Matty and Logan Radcliffe – Mason’s villainous brothers, played by Séamus McGoff and Harry Lowbridge, respectively. The pair appeared on the scene last year, and it wasn’t long before they were turning the world upside-down on the cobbles. And, in shocking scenes earlier this year, the siblings brutally stabbed Mason to death after he turned them into the police. Matty was arrested, but Logan remained at large. This week, a tragic fire ravaged the Platt family home, with David Platt accusing Logan of arson due to their troubled past. On Tuesday, Logan attacked David at Shuttleworth’s funeral parlour, but was eventually arrested by the police, who arrived just in time. Logan denied responsibility for the fire, instead accusing David of starting it, reports Lancs Live.

After the intense scenes aired, Harry Lowbridge confirmed his character’s exit on Instagram, hinting that Logan’s story may not be over just yet, saying “That’s farewell to Logan… for now”. Fans have been taking to social media to applaud the actor for his turn in Weatherfield, with one saying: “Great work, he will be back”, and another posting: “All the best, you were great, hope you come back”. One fan was in awe of Harry’s character work, saying: “Such a bada*s villain! You’ve been brilliant.” The exit is part of a significant shake-up in the show following the departures of Debbie Webster, Eileen Grimshaw, Craig Tinker, Daisy Midgeley, Yasmeen Metcalfe, Luca Toolan, and Max Turner. This wave of farewells comes after Gail Platt’s poignant Christmas goodbye as Helen Worth retired from her 50-year stint. Coronation Street is on ITV1 at 8pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and on ITV X and STV.
