Coronation Street’s Paddy Bever, who played Max Turner on the ITV soap, could be heading for a stint on rival soap. Paddy first appeared on Corrie in 2021 as the son of the late Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) and has been involved in several major storylines. In 2022, his character was groomed by far-right extremists, and last year he tried to take the blame for the murder of Joel Dommett (Calum Lill) to protect his girlfriend Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). Last month, Max took drastic measures to protect his family, setting fire to the Platt house to repay gangster Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor). This led to Max being caught and sentenced to six and a half years in prison this week, marking Paddy’s exit from the soap. Earlier this year, Paddy announced he was leaving Coronation Street to “explore new opportunities”, describing it as an “an incredibly difficult decision”.

Now, with Max behind bars, it seems Paddy might be heading for Emmerdale, with Betway offering odds of 12/1 for him to join the rival soap. But it’s not just a new soap role that Paddy could be looking at. Betway’s Mike Reading spilled the beans: “The news of Paddy Bever’s upcoming exit from Coronation Street has sent shockwaves through Weatherfield, leaving his next move a hot topic among fans.”, reports Leicestershire Live. He teased further updates, saying, “With the full line-up still to be announced, Paddy’s exit could see him join this year’s I’m A Celebrity cast (4/1), while the chance of him taking part in Celebrity Great British Bake Off is priced up at 6/1.”

However, Reading added a juicy tidbit: “But given his popularity and talent – earning him a Rising Star award at the NTAs in 2022 – another stint in soapland isn’t totally out of the question. There is a chance he takes a role in Emmerdale (12/1), especially with the Dales undergoing a casting shake-up as several long-standing stars exit the show.” And Dom Aldworth from Slingo also weighed in on Paddy’s prospects, hinting that he’s got a bright future ahead. “Given how he has impressed Coronation Street viewers with his portrayal of Max, a natural next step could be continuing his successful soap career.” Aldworth even suggested a specific destination for Bever’s talents: “His youthful energy could be the perfect match for Hollyoaks, where he could add depth to their high-energy and explosive storylines, something he already excels with.” Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
