“He’s got into a pickle owing money and Max is now in prison. He feels this is the only way to clear all the debt and his family will be better off without him.” Jack then teased the potential “end” of his iconic Corrie role, as he approaches 25 years on the ITV soap. While speaking with hosts Ben Shephard, Cat Deeley, and soap expert Sharon Marshall, David remarked: “25 years, it’s a long time. I think it’s about 25 years next month. It would have been nice to meet that milestone”, reports the Mirror. He then dropped the bombshell: “But sadly tonight’s the end. I’ve loved every minute. I can’t believe we’ve managed to keep it out for so long. I think everybody will enjoy it.” His words left Sharon, Ben and Cat all stunned. Ben asked: “Jack, is tonight the actual end for your character?” to which the actor replied: “Yeah! I can’t believe we’ve managed to keep it out for so long but I think everybody will enjoy it!”

Ben then asked: “Is he saying yes or no there Sharon?” to which the soap expert explained: “Well, I cannot say how it ends tonight, it has been kept under wraps but you’re definitely not filming today…You have come in on a day you’re not, he’s not filming, he has just come in! “Has he just given us a massive bombshell?” to which Ben replied: “I think he might of!” Jack added: “I’ve loved my time here, loved the character and yeah it’s a really special episode!”, he continued: “I think we did something similar when Kylie died, I don’t think the audience were expecting that till I came on This Morning and said the character sort of dies!” Sharon then teased: “Well we better tune into that, all I will say is you will get the answer tonight as to what happens!”
