Privacy NoticeCoronation Street fans were left gobsmacked when they spotted what seemed to be a lookalike of Craig Tinker. The character, played by actor Colson Smith, has been a staple on the cobbles since his first appearance as a young lad in 2011. Viewers have seen him grow from a schoolboy into a committed police officer, dealing with heartbreak this year and showing off an impressive personal transformation. However, it was during Monday night’s episode (July 15) that fans were sent into a spin by the arrival of a new face in Weatherfield, who looked so much like beloved Craig that many thought they must be related. The chatter was all about a nurse at the hospital where Roy Cropper (played by David Neilson) ended up after having a heart attack. Meanwhile, Lauren Bolton (played by Cait Fitton) made her surprising return – despite disappearing in February and being presumed dead. Roy confided in his niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) about seeing Lauren, but she initially brushed off the idea, insisting that Lauren had died. However, in the gripping Monday episode (July 15), the male nurse dropped a shocker on Nina and Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown), revealing that Roy’s ‘other blonde niece’ had also been visiting him. However, the real buzz among viewers was about the striking similarity between the nurse and Corrie’s own Craig, leading to a flurry of double-takes. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer exclaimed: “Is that male nurse Craig’s twin?”

Another fan joined in with: “I thought that nurse was Craig’s brother at first!?” While a third commented: “Had to do a double take, Thought Craig was a nurse.” One stunned fan asked: “Is that male nurse going to turn out to be Craig’s long-lost brother?” Another wondered: “Is the doctor Craig’s twin separated at birth.” Meanwhile, a fifth fan added: “That nurse DCI Tinkers long lost brother?” Lauren’s storyline is set to vamp up much more in the coming weeks, as viewers learnt she was pregnant with Joel Deering’s baby. With Joel and Dee-Dee planning their wedding for September, viewers will be on the edge of their seats, wondering if and when the secret will be revealed. Speaking on having to keep her shock return on the downlow, Cait told OK!: “I was getting lifts by Cal, Calum Lill but I was having to get into the boot to make sure I wasn’t being seen. People would be at the front taking selfies and I’d be in the boot still, so it was a bit chaotic. It was like a massive game of Twister in that boot, it was tiny!”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
