Coronation Street is set to air some truly distressing scenes next week, as young Bertie finds himself in a life-threatening situation when he almost drowns in a hot tub. In the upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, the drama continues with characters Jenny and Daisy. Jenny decides to gift Rita with a spa voucher, revealing that Daisy’s father had invested in shares under her name years ago, which should now result in a £60,000 payout. Meanwhile, Daisy is feeling the pressure over the money that she and Jenny owe Carla, while Jenny remains silent about her unexpected windfall. Daniel proposes that Daisy move in with him and Bertie, but she’s hesitant about leaving Jenny behind.

When Jenny presents her with a spa voucher, Daisy is moved by her apparent kindness, even as Jenny battles feelings of guilt. However, things take a turn for the worse when Jenny becomes distracted by a phone call from the bank. While she’s supposed to be watching Bertie, she loses focus due to the call, reports the Mirror. Spotting his football floating in the hot tub, little Bertie wanders over to retrieve it. Steve and Cassie decide to enjoy a dip in the hot tub, only to horrifyingly discover Bertie in the water. A panicked Jenny begins searching for Bertie just as Steve and Cassie pull the toddler from the water. An angry Daisy lashes out at Jenny for her carelessness, as they rush Bertie to the hospital. Will he be alright?

Coronation Street’s Bertie also recently found himself at the heart of a distressing plot when he accidentally found himself with antidepressant pills. Gemma Winter, who was supposed to be watching him, dozed off, leading to the frightening incident where Bertie discovered and swallowed some of her medication, leaving Daisy and Daniel shocked upon their return. Viewers will soon say farewell to Daisy as she makes her departure from the show. Reflecting on her time on the Street, actress Charlotte Jordan shared: “My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish. After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.” Meanwhile, insiders reveal that Charlotte, who portrays Daisy, is ready to spread her wings. “Charlotte has loved her time on the cobbles but is young, ambitious and hungry to see what else is out there for her. She told bosses last April that her next contract would be her last, giving them a year to craft an exciting exit storyline. She’s still filming now and her final scenes will play out in early summer. She’s adored by cast and crew and will be hugely missed,” a source disclosed.
