Privacy Notice Comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan are joining the cast of Hollyoaks – well, temporarily anyway. The pair will star in an upcoming scene as part of the new series of Rob & Romesh Vs… on Sky Max. As part of their Hollywood stunts challenge, the pair went to Liverpool to film a scene with soap stars Jennifer Metcalfe (Mercedes McQueen) and Jamie Lomas (Warren Fox). The scene takes place in the prison where Romesh plays a jail guard trying to break up a fight, while Rob is a prisoner who gets involved in the tussle as the central characters, Mercedes and Warren, watch the drama unfold.

On working alongside the two comedians, Jennifer said: “It was ace filming alongside Rob and Romesh. The scene is incredible and they were so much fun and very professional. “It was great having them on set and we’d have them back any time.” As part of the same episode, Rob and Romesh head to Hollywood where they meet stars of The Fall Guy; Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling. Rob couldn’t help but rave about them both: “They are Hollywood superstars,” and admitted to being starstruck by Gosling’s good looks, “And Ryan Gosling is so fit. He’s actually fitter than I thought he was going to be. I thought he might be a bit rough up close but he was even better looking, smelt good, felt good, looked good.”

It’s also during the same episode that Rob and Romesh face their most terrifying stunt yet, being set on fire. The pair head to Universal Studios in Hollywood where in an incredibly daring act, they are set alight. “They can put all the safety measures in place, but stuff can go wrong,” warns Romesh. “I think part of being a comedian means that you are programmed to anticipate the absolute worst and most negative outcome, that’s our default setting. “In my mind, I just sort of thought this will be the one time where they’ve used the wrong gel and they’ve actually used fuel.”

The dynamic pair didn’t stop there; their three-part series adventure saw them headbanging at Download Festival, meeting music legends, and performing in front of a massive crowd of metal fans. They also embarked on an epic Vegas to LA road trip with UFC legend Michael Bisping.
