More infoJoin us on WhatsApp Chocolate fans are rallying for the return of a cherished festive treat that was previously part of Celebrations boxes. As the holiday season approaches, many are discussing their favorite Christmas chocolates, including selection tubs like Quality Street and Roses, as well as the classic Terry’s Chocolate Orange. However, Celebrations is generating the most buzz, with a heated debate over which chocolate in the box reigns supreme. Many argue that Galaxy Truffles were the top choice before they were discontinued by Mars Inc in 2011. These treats, featuring a velvety chocolate center encased in a hard shell, were part of the original Celebrations tub launched in 1997 but were replaced with Twix. A recent social media post by popular food page UK Newest Foods has gone viral, with many still holding out hope for the return of Galaxy Truffles.

The post featured an image of the beloved chocolate and stated, “As we enter this festive period, we must never forget those who we lost along the way.” The post continued, “The Galaxy Truffle was the absolute BEST of the Celebrations! Gone but never forgotten,” reports the Mirror. This sparked over 1,200 comments, with chocolate enthusiasts clamouring for the Galaxy Truffle’s reinstatement. One commenter expressed, “I miss these, they were soooo good, we need them back.” Another inquired, “Why would they get rid of something that so many people enjoyed? ” A third commenter added, “These were so good,” There’s a growing demand for the return of Galaxy Truffles, with one enthusiastic fan taking to Twitter to plead: “@galaxyuk BRING THEM BACK.” The sentimental value of the treat was echoed by another fan who shared: “These were my favourite.” Although a campaign to revive the truffles was initiated in 2018 by Sean Duggan, aiming to collect 10,000 signatures, it only garnered around 1,500 supporters by 2024. In his passionate appeal, Sean expressed: “Let’s get the Truffle back and let the company know that we don’t want something that was so popular to be replaced with something so mediocre. Let us show not only the heartbreak of something so delicious being taken away, but to show that this should never happen again!” Despite a brief return of Galaxy Truffles to Tesco in 2019, priced at £5, devotees argue they don’t quite match the original, making a comeback in Celebrations boxes unlikely in the near future.
