Privacy Notice Katya Jones has broken her silence this evening about the moment she was filmed pushing opera singer Wynne Evans’ hand off her waist following their performance on Saturday night’s Strictly Come Dancing. The Russian beauty took to Instagram and shared a clip of herself in purple loungewear addressing the backlash Wynne has been receiving in the past 24 hours after the awkward moment went viral. She said in the video: “Happy Sunday everyone. Now, I need to make something crystal clear: the hand incident which happened on Saturday night was an inside joke and a very silly inside joke between Wynne and me.

“So even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended me in any way is complete nonsense – it’s quite absurd, actually. Now, can we just focus on how brilliant he is doing and what an amazing dancer he is becoming?” While she was speaking to fans, her doorbell started buzzing so she had to apologise as a delivery had arrived. “Delivery, sorry guys, I have got to go, but lots of love,” she signed off after blowing a kiss to the camera.

To accompany the video, the Strictly star reiterated her points in a caption, adding: “Let’s focus on how brilliantly @wynneevans is doing and what an amazing dancer he’s becoming! Happy Sunday, everyone!” Fans flocked to the comment section to weigh in on Katya’s video, with one writing: “Before the comments go crazy not believing her. Just grow up. She just said chill, everyone.” Another said: “You’re not explaining how it was a joke? I think it’s exactly how it comes across on camera. You didn’t want his hand there, so moved it? Not a big deal.”

A third added: “People are acting very silly about it all. Hope you and Wynne are ok and can just focus on next week’s dance. All the best.” Another said: “Not even funny to be honest in this day and age with everything that is going on so can’t see the funny side of this when people were genuinely concerned.” Meanwhile, Hayley noted: “What about the high five? Love you guys together and your doing great.” Katya also aired Wynne’s high-five, which didn’t go unnoticed by BBC viewers. However, the pair addressed this on social media on Saturday night. Wynne penned: “Apologies for this tonight, we were just messing around. We really are amazing friends. The high 5’s is a running joke. Have a great evening.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
