Privacy NoticeStrictly Come Dancing’s Janette Manrara shared an honest post of her crying as she said ‘it’s getting harder’ to leave her daughter, 15-month old Lyra, at nursery. The professional dancer, 40, who hosts Strictly spin-off, It Takes Two, shared a heartfelt video on Instagram, tears streaming down her face, as she left the nursery, alongside an empowering message for fellow parents: “This is an honesty post for any parent that needs to hear it….. WE’VE GOT THIS. It’s tough to balance parenthood and work, but we all do our absolute best. It’s getting harder and harder to leave Lyra at nursery as she’s getting older and more aware, and our bond is growing stronger.” “But I know it’s the best for both of us right now. I can get to work knowing she is safe, and she develops social skills and stronger immunity to viruses all while having fun and learning. She always cries when I leave her, but she is fine after a few minutes. It hurts so hard to see her upset and holding on so tight to mami.”

“But I remind myself that she is learning from example, a loving mami who protects and cares for her, and also works hard to provide for her family, and make her dreams come true. P.S. Thanks to the nursery team for the tissues as I left.” Her followers and friends were quick to offer words of comfort in the comments section. Strictly star Tasha Ghouri – who is partnered with Janette’s husband Aljaž Å korjanec, 34, on the BBC show – wrote: “You’re doing amazing!! Sending big hugs and kisses”, reports the Mirror. Olympian Sam Quek showed her support too, telling Janette: “I hear you mama, you’re doing amazing and you got this. I had it this week, you’re not alone. See you very soon.”

One fan wrote: “I went through this with both of my kids, it’s so hard. You are doing what’s best for everyone! It will get easier, I promise! stay strong.” Another supportive follower said: “Sending you so much love, it’s very hard leaving your little one especially when they cry and I know as both of my boys used to do this. But it will get better and hopefully the tears will stop soon, you are such a good role model to your daughter, so be kind to yourself.” Janette and her husband Aljaz recently celebrated little Lyra’s first birthday on July 28, and it’s all about family for these two.

Aljaz gushed to OK! how much their daughter has changed their lives, saying: “I absolutely love it! I went shopping the other day because I needed a new pair of trousers, and I thought to myself, ‘This is probably the first time in a couple of months that I’ve actually gone to the shop for me,’ because my whole world is about Lyra – it’s not about me any more.” Adding a cute detail about their father-daughter bond, he admitted: “Of course, she is a daddy’s girl, but I would say that! If you ask Janette, she’s going to say Lyra’s a mummy’s girl. I have a lot of childish energy, I don’t think I’ll ever grow up. So, at the moment, myself and Lyra are actually really compatible – she sees me and she goes crazy.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
