The 32-year-old, who married husband Will back in 2022, took to social media to share the happy news, posting a photo of a baby grow with the words, ‘Baby Owen’ on the front. “Can’t wait to meet you, little one,” she wrote on the post, tagging her husband. Eleanor’s celebrity friends flocked to the comments to congratulate the actress, with Doctor Who’s Millie Gibson posting a series of happy emojis. White Lines star Laura Haddock wrote: “Eeeekkkkk,” alongside three heart emojis. This is England’s Chanel Cresswell wrote: “Oooooo fabulous news,” with a heart emoji. Meanwhile, her co-star in The Couple Next Door, Jessica De Gouw, wrote: “Giddy with excitement.”

Eleanor rose to fame in the teen film Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging in 2008 before landing the role of Demelza Poldark alongside Aidan Turner in BBC drama Poldark. While she previously dated her Poldark co-star Harry Richardson between June 2017 and June 2018 and was once romantically linked to Aidan Turner’s stunt double Ben Atkinson, she eventually found love with rugby player Will and the couple married in 2022. In recent years, Eleanor has taken on roles in shows like Netflix hit One Day as Sylvie Cope and Channel 4 thriller The Couple Next Door. She also played Lady Gabby Penrose-Howe in BBC One comedy The Outlaws, which has aired since 2021. Speaking last year about working on The Couple Next Door, Eleanor praised her co-star Jessica De Gouw. “Oh Jessica, what a woman,” she said. “She and I worked very closely on creating the bond between us, which is somewhat the gateway to all of this that sort of ensues.”

As for why she took on the role of Evie in the drama, Eleanor said that she wanted to move away from the characters she has portrayed in other projects. “Evie, she’s very complicated,” said Eleanor. “I wanted to somewhat break away from what I’m known for. That’s what I always strive for and this was a real challenge to kind of flex some muscles.” “I think it’s incredibly rare to get a cast of four people who got on so well immediately,” she added. “So there was really no building of trust. It was already there, and we just had a hoot.
