The 31 year old singer’s death was announced last night after he fell from the third floor of a hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Hotel staff reportedly raised concerns about the star’s behaviour, describing him as ‘acting erratically’. Police were later called regarding a man behaving aggressively, possibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Reports suggest that a preliminary autopsy has been carried out, attributing the singer’s death to ‘multiple trauma’ and ‘internal and external bleeding’. A host of celebrities, including former X Factor contestant Rebecca Ferguson, have taken to social media to pay tribute to the star. Greg Horan, who first met Liam when both were part of pop group One Direction, also released a statement.

“To say I’m heartbroken is an understatement,” he shared on Instagram. “[I’ve had] a weird feeling this morning and all night. You transitioned from a top young boy to a man, a son, and a brother. You are one of the four lads I was happy enough to consider as a brother in Niall’s life.” Greg expressed that Liam will be ‘forever missed’ and shared his deep longing to ‘grab’ his brother and remind him of all the cherished memories they had with the late star. “My heart goes out to your family, parents, sisters, your son Bear, and your 1D brothers,” he continued. “10th October we met and we started out that evening as five families into one big one 1D family. Thank you for all the laughs bro. Watch down on all your family and mind them lots of love kiddo.” A flood of One Direction fans quickly filled the comments section to share their condolences, with many pleading Greg for the same favour. “Hug Niall, please,” wrote one heartbroken user.

Another posted: “Niall must be devastated… please take care of him,” while a third chimed in: “This all feels so surreal… Please hug Niall and be there for him.” Just weeks before his tragic death, the Wolverhampton born singer was seen supporting Niall Horan at his concert at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires on October 2. After heading to the concert, a video was shared online which showed Liam and his girlfriend Kate singing and dancing to Niall’s music. Liam also shared a series of other clips and photos of the event on Snapchat, including one of himself with his former bandmate. “Reunited,” he wrote. Speaking about his trip before the concert, Liam said in a social media video: “We’re going to Argentina. One, because we have to, and two, because we want to, and three, because Niall Horan’s playing down there and I think we might just go and say ‘Hello’.” He added: “It’s been a while since me and Niall have spoken. We’ve got a lot to talk about and I would like to square up a couple things with the boy. No bad vibes or nothing like that, but just, we need to talk.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
