On Wednesday, 18 January, Michael posted an update as he previously told his fans that he had to undergo surgery for his cancer. In the photo, Michael was seen looking into the camera as he raised his fist in a celebratory way as he made his way home from hospital. He captioned the post: “Thank you to everyone around the world for your love and prayers. I am overwhelmed by your kindness. I have been released from hospital and am on the mend.”

The post was quickly flooded with comments from his friends and fans as they all shared Michael’s happiness and wished him well. One person wrote: “Michael that’s great news. Holding you high in my thoughts. There’s a lot of love out there for you, I’m sure Many agree. Please rest well” with a praying hands emoji in the middle of two red love heart emojis. A second person penned: “Oh Michael, these are exactly the news I’ve been (and I believe everyone else) waiting since last week Tuesday. We are and will be forever here for you. We love you!!!! Xxx.” It comes one week after Michael announced his cancer diagnosis on his Instagram, describing it at “aggressive”. The star said: “Dear friends, we have something personal to share, Michael Flatley has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. “He has undergone surgery and is in the care of an excellent team of doctors. No further comments will be made at this time.

Teamlord.” In July 2021, Michael appeared on Loose Women to speak about his new lease of life after he narrowly avoided incurable cancer thanks to his secretary, who spotted a unusual mark on his face just as he was about to jet off on a trip that would have left him no time to treat it. Appearing on the show, he said: “It’s a sad reality. I don’t know how I didn’t notice it. I had a big mark on the side of my face and my secretary Thomas was watching the interview that I was doing and said boss don’t you think you should check that out?

“I had no intention, I was in Vegas but we flew to LA the next day and he made an appointment and I went in to get it checked out, I was flying to Barbados the next morning. “The next morning the doctor called and said can you come in and see me.
