Liam Payne tragically died aged 31 (Image: Ian West/PA Wire)Liam Payne’s preliminary autopsy findings reveal he died from “multiple traumas” that caused “internal and external bleeding”. The former One Direction member tragically died after falling from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room on Wednesday night in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Staff at the hotel were left shaken as they made an urgent 911 call regarding his critical state just before he passed away. Experts from the Forensic Medical Corps have conducted an autopsy at the Judicial Morgue on Viamonte Street, with reports from Infobae providing insight into the early findings. The early findings align with injuries sustained from a ten-metre descent that the pop star is believed to have fallen from his third-floor Casa Sur hotel balcony on Godoy Cruz Street.

According to the report, additional toxicological and anatomical-pathological examinations are being performed on Liam’s blood and urine samples to check for possible drug use. Furthermore, there may be a request for the late singer’s medical records to analyse his mental health background, reports the Mirror. Leading the enquiry is Prosecutor No. 16, directed by Andres Madrea, and Deputy Secretary Maria Florencia Lavaggi has been collecting statements as part of the investigation. The comprehensive autopsy results will be disclosed in due course.

The City Police of Buenos Aires’ Mobile Criminalistics Unit gathered crucial forensic evidence in the room at Casa Sur hotel where the incident occurred. At the crime scene, investigators discovered items including a bottle of whiskey, a lighter, and a cell phone believed to be Liam’s, which is likely to be analysed for any messages. Each item bore detectable fingerprints. A white substance alongside pharmaceuticals such as clonazepam and energy stimulants were detected in the premises. Notably, law enforcement also secured a notebook and the artist’s passport, which are now in the custody of the Prosecutor No. 16. Buenos Aires emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti told The Sun: “Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life. Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.” In the aftermath of the heartbreaking event, Liam’s grieving relatives have released a heart-breaking statement: “We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.” The 31 year old, who had enjoyed the company of his ex-bandmate Niall Horan while visiting Argentina, was accompanied by his partner Kate Cassidy on the trip, though she had flown home prior to the harrowing discovery yesterday.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
