Privacy NoticeTV presenter Kirsty Gallacher has opened up about her heart-wrenching divorce, revealing it left her battling intense loneliness before she found happiness again. In a candid chat with Aimee Fuller on the Monday Mile podcast, the ex-Sky Sports News host shared her personal journey post-split from her former rugby star husband Paul Sampson. Pouring her heart out, Kirsty described the tough transition after her 2015 separation. She said: “When I got divorced, when I separated, obviously the kids would spend time with their father, and me. I was horrendously lonely, (I was) not in a good place, very sad. Because it was completely different and I actually don’t really love being on my own. I like being surrounded by family and noise.” Now 48, Kirsty has embraced her solitude and learned to find joy in the quieter moments: “I like my peace now and I’ve grown to like that and enjoy it, probably purely because I’m so busy, so juxtaposed to the mania sometimes of the house, it’s quite nice to have just a minute to kind of breathe.” Reflecting on the early days after her marriage ended, she confessed: “But really in the beginning it was very hard to get used to no kids around or just you know a different sort of situation. So I was alway pining to meet someone, wanting to have someone around,” reports the Mirror.

Former Sky Sports News presenter Kirsty Gallacher opened up about her relationship struggles on the podcast, sharing that she feared she would never find love again post-divorce, recalling: “I had faith in meeting someone one day, I nearly lost faith and I’m very grateful that I met my bloke and I do think it gets more difficult later on (to meet someone later in life).” Last year, everyone rooted for Kirsty when news broke out that she’s loved-up with former rugby hunk Darren Clayton. Before this romance, she married another rugby player Paul Sampson, with whom she walked down the aisle in 2010 and shared two adorable boys, Oscar and Jude. Kirsty, who first graced TV screens on Sky Sports News in 1998 and quickly became the go-to source for sports updates over a splendid 20-year tenure, has dazzled us outside of the newsroom as well. She’s sashayed across the dance floor on Strictly Come Dancing and informed viewers on GB News. However, fans rallied around her when she stepped back after announcing her battle with a benign brain tumour in 2021.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
