Privacy NoticeKate and Rio Ferdinand looked unrecognisable as they completely overturned their usual look for a Halloween transformation. Embracing the spooky season, the former footballer, 45, and TV personality, 33, dressed up as characters from Shrek with their children. The star-studded couple went all-out with their costumes for Halloween as Kate dressed up as the fairy godmother and Rio as Lord Farquaad. Kate donned a pretty blue fairy gown, wings, a wand and a purple wig, while Rio sported a red outfit with a black short-cut wig and a hat. Their youngest children, Cree, three and Shae, one, who the parents have chosen to keep out of the spotlight, were also dressed up as part of the hit Dreamworks movie. Cree was dressed as Donkey from Shrek, complete with his own reins to hold, while their youngest had an adorable Gingerbread onesie on. Two of Rio’s children, Tia, 12 and Tate, 15, from his marriage to Rebecca, who sadly died of cancer, were also part of the Halloween celebrations. Tia appeared to be dressed up as Tinkerbell, away from the family theme, while her older brother Tate went all out as the main character, Shrek.

Rio’s eldest son Lorenz, 17, appeared to be missing from the family fun, and instead, Flo joined the family as Puss in Boots from the film. With the Halloween family snap, Kate added the caption: “What are you doing in my swamp?” Fans flooded the comments to applaud their dedication to Halloween and to compliment them on their outfits. One wrote: “You all look great”, while a second said: “The best outfits.” A third penned: “LOVE!! In the words of Donkey, “Wow! Let’s do that again!”” One asked to Kate, “How do u still look that buff as an old granny.” Another added: “Rio suits this look so much”, as another agreed: “Rio looks nice with a Bob.” “You all look great. Love Tia’s dress, perfect for Tinkerbell”, another wrote. As others noted: “This is brilliant!” and “Absolutely brilliant!”

Kate gushed over her husband to mark their five-year wedding anniversary last month
Sign up to OK!’s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free Their Halloween fun comes after Kate shared a heartfelt tribute to her former football ace husband to mark their five-year wedding anniversary. The mum-of-five posted a throwback snap from their opulent wedding in Turkey and gushed: “5 years today, my best friend is Completely obsessed with us.” The couple said ‘I do’ in a dreamy oceanside ceremony in Marmaris, Turkey, in 2020, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. Rio said at the time of their wedding that ‘fate’ had brought Kate into his life. On the big day he told OK!: “I definitely wasn’t looking for someone at that time. I didn’t think it was possible, I wasn’t open to bringing someone in to become a stepmum to the kids. Things don’t always go the way you imagine. Meeting Kate changed everything and sometimes it’s just fate. “I knew Kate was special from the moment I met her; it was pretty instant, but seeing her with the kids cemented everything; that was a huge part of it for me.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
