Privacy Notice Former England rugby star James Haskell has posted a photo on Instagram of how he looks just one day after he had a hair transplant. James, who is separated from wife Chloe Madeley, shared an image from his car in which he is wearing a brightly printed floral shirt, and the first results of the transplant can be seen. He captioned the pic by saying: “New hair,” surrounded by flame emojis. “Day 1 recovery is going well! What a job @drraghureddy has done. The best in the game,” referring to Harley Street hair replacement specialist Dr Raghu Reddy. Fans rushed to comment, with one writing: “Welcome to the club. Enjoy sleeping upright,” referring to what James will need to do to preserve his new look as it heals. Another wrote: “Good luck. Hope the recovery goes well,” and a third commented: “Very handsome.” James previously revealed in 2023 that he was considering a hair transplant, in an interview with The Independent. He said: “I’m going to get my hair sorted out at some point because it’s thinning,” and he also didn’t completely rule out other forms of cosmetic surgery. “Would I start getting Botox and other bits and pieces? Maybe, maybe not, but I don’t think so. Character in the face is important for a man.”

He also wrote about hair loss in his book Approach With(Out) Caution. “The odd thing is [hair loss] affects so many men, yet they are the first to absolutely destroy anyone with a hint of a receder. I look back on teammates that I grilled about their hair and think what a p**** I was, now I am heading albeit slowly the same way. Men are very odd at times. I get messages telling me, ‘I think it’s time you shaved your head,’ or ‘Come on mate, get a transplant,’ from people I have never met. I think they consider it as ‘banter’.” James and wife Chloe, who share two year old daughter Bodhi, split in October last year after five years of marriage. Since announcing their split, Chloe, 37, and James, 39, have remained on good terms and Chloe’s dad, Richard Madeley, recently revealed that the pair had a “very happy uncoupling” and were even heading on holiday together. Chloe has recently spoken about the reason that the couple separated during an interview with Olivia Attwood on her So Wrong It’s Right podcast, released on Thursday 10 October. “I’m one of those people that need structure and routine,” she said. “My ex, and I, I think, one of the reasons things became so hard for us was because he thrives in chaos. His schedule, I don’t even remember when he was in England for a full week. He’s all over the place and I just can’t do that. Can’t live like that.” She also spoke to OK! about how the couple were parenting Bodhi since the break up. “We’re not going anywhere. I think everyone can see on social media we’re not messing around. We’re going to be the best parents we can be to Bodhi. James is an incredible dad and she adores him – and I like to think I’m a pretty good mum. We want her to have a strong bond to both of us, but also her family unit. We spend so much time together,” she said.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
