Privacy Notice Jess Wright is in great form and looking very glamorous when OK!catches up with her ahead of a night out at the theatre in London’s West End. The reality star and sister of presenter Mark Wright appeared on TOWIE from 2010 to 2016. She tells us she would love to be up on stage herself, and opens up about the joys and the struggles of being a mum to her mischievous but adorable son, Presley. Back in August, Jess took to Instagram to share an emotional post revealing that her little boy has “a congenital heart disease called ‘Bicuspid Aortic Valve’”. She added, ”I won’t go into the full details right now, but while this is, please God, not a fatal disease, we are coming to terms with the fact that our son will need intervention at least twice in his life.”

The TV personality, who turned 39 last month, also reveals whether she might add to her family with her businessman husband of three years, William Lee-Kemp, who she married in a stunning ceremony on the island of Mallorca in 2021. Having gone to stage school herself, Jess, who previously dated former Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni Pernice, also talks about treading the boards and why taking part in the hit BBC dance show – like her brother Mark did in 2014 – would literally be “a dream come true” for her. Hi, Jess! How are you – and how is your son, Presley? I’m great, thanks! Oh, he’s two now, and he’s such a handful, let me tell you! He’s hilarious, funny, crazy and lively. He’s a typical little boy, really. He’s completely adorable and I’m utterly obsessed with him. Are you hoping to have more children some day? You know what? I honestly don’t know. I get asked that every day, and I don’t know. At the minute, I can say I’m happy as we are.
Presley is at the centre of Jess and William’s world
Family life can be hard though – you have to give up so much when you become a mum… Yes, absolutely, that’s true. It’s a full-time job, whatever way you look at it, but obviously, we still need to work, too! You have to juggle everything, and that can be tough at times. Ultimately, I always wanted to have a family, and Presley is my world now, so you just have to take the rough with the smooth. I always remember, when things do get tricky, that I’ve got my little baby boy – he’s naughty, but he’s such an absolute cutie. Your mum, Carol, must love being a grandmother… Oh, she does! And she is totally obsessed with her grandchildren – and I mean obsessed! She’s got three grandkids now – all boys. I think we’re all hoping for a girl to spoil at some point! Your mum had your sister Natalya at 40. Does that give you hope you’ve still got time, should you decide to have another child? She did, and she had her naturally as well. I think for me it’s exactly that, and I’m 39 now, so at the minute I’m OK – there’s still time. And William and I have had our embryos frozen, which we did before we got married. What was it that led you to doing that? I think, because my mum went through the menopause very early, which is my concern, we froze our embryos just in case, and before the wedding. You have to have these concerns, don’t you? My mum had my sister at 40 but then literally entered the menopause a year later, at 41. Life is mad, and sometimes you don’t expect the things that can happen.

On the career front, does going to see shows in the West End make you want to get into acting at all? I’ve always done a little bit of acting, so I do love seeing people like Stacey Dooley up on stage. Yes, it makes me want to get up there, too! What about Strictly – your brother Mark made it to the Strictly final in 2014. Do you fancy it, too? Of course he did! Mark had never danced in his life before that show, and of course he made it to the final, ha ha. But seriously? Strictly is my dream. I’ve absolutely been obsessed with dancing, and I’ve been dancing since I was out of the womb, so hopefully one day. You’d be great on the show. You went to stage school, didn’t you? I did go to stage school, yes, and absolutely loved it. So yes, who knows!Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
