Privacy NoticeAlexander Lincoln, who famously played Jamie Tate on Emmerdale, is about to see his career skyrocket with a new role in Hollywood. The 30-year-old actor, recognisable as the ITV soap’s vet, is set to star alongside Mean Girls’ actor Jonathan Bennett. After his memorable exit from Emmerdale in 2021 where his character faked his own death, Alexander has now scored a part in a fresh project by Hallmark. The British talent will take to the screen in The Groomsmen trilogy, playing the love interest of Jonathan’s character, reports The Mirror.

It’s going to put his name on the lips of casting directors in America for sure.” The upcoming release will explore the male side of wedding preparations, featuring friends who are all groomsmen at each other’s weddings, with the exact release dates are still under wraps. Reportedly, the second instalment, The Groomsmen Second Chances, will stir the pot as Jonathan’s character confesses his true feelings for Alexander’s character, who is his best friend. Jonathan said to People magazine, saying: “‘That is the first time we’ve had a gay wedding on Hallmark as the lead storyline. And that’s a huge move for the gay community so they can see themselves represented in these stories.”

Meanwhile, Alexander has built quite the acting resume; he snagged a role in the comedy movie Degenerates back in 2018, where he rubbed shoulders with EastEnders legends Annette Badland and Jamie Foreman. Alongside mainstream roles, he’s also dabbled in indie flicks, starring in Wander, Sun in the Night and Recall. Last year, Alexander set pulses racing by vowing to unveil “increasingly strange nudes” in a bid to fundraise for homeless youth in Birmingham. True to his word and oozing charitable spirit, he took to Instagram to rally his followers behind the cause. If they helped him smash his £200 target, he pledged to provide eye-popping pics. While his initial tease was a snap of him suggestively undoing his shirt – chest hair peeking out to tantalise his fans – raising an extra £500 saw him share a sultry picture from his trip abroad. Clad only in swim shorts, Alexander flaunted his toned torso and ink whilst taking in the view at a picturesque lake. Overwhelmed by the support, he penned alongside the photo: “As promised, a nudeish. Thank you for your support honestly it means the world and even more to the young people of Birmingham.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
