Privacy NoticeEmily Atack looked incredible at the Rivals gala screening in London on Tuesday night, 16 October. The actress, 34, was joined by her boyfriend Alistair Garner on the red carpet following the birth of their son. Emily and her scientist beau welcomed baby Barney back in June. The new parents put on a loved-up display at the star-studded event, where Emily looked incredible in a black velvet mini dress with a feathered fringe detail. She donned polka dot tights and black heels and had her long blonde hair down around her shoulders in loose waves. Alistair, meanwhile, looked dapper in a navy blue suit with a blue and white patterned shirt, which he unbuttoned to reveal some of his chest.

Disney+ hosted the screening at London’s Regent Street Cinema for Rivals, which will premiere on 18 October. Published in 1988, Rivals is part of Dame Jilly Cooper’s Rutshire Chronicles series and has now been adapted into an eight-part series of the same name. Set against the backdrop of the drama and shocking antics of the power-grabbing social elite of 1980s England, the story delves into the cutthroat world of independent British television in 1986. Stars of the series attended the event alongside Emily, including Alex Hassell, Aidan Turner, Bella Maclean, Danny Dyer, Victoria Smurfit, Claire Rushbrook, Oliver Chris, Lisa McGrillis, Rufus Jones, Luke Pasqualino, Catriona Chandler, Gabriel Tierney, Emma Shipp, Gary Lamont and Lara Peake.

Rivals is mainly directed by Bafta-nominated Elliot Hegarty, while Dee Koppang O’Leary – who is wife of This Morning host Dermot – and Alexandra Brodski also direct some episodes, and author Dame Jilly is an executive producer on the series. It comes after Emily revealed that she was more “worried” about learning to play tennis than stripping off in Rivals. The Inbetweeners star plays Sarah Stratton in the series, and told Metro.co.uk: “I was worried about [the tennis match]. I thought, ‘Oh God, am I gonna have to actually know how to play tennis?’ –

“Funny that was my worry, rather than the nudity.” The actress admitted the naked scene “ended up being quite a liberating experiences”, and she was “so relaxed” in between filming. She laughed: “I remember I had the towel and the robe in between takes; but by the end of it, honestly, I couldn’t put my clothes on, I was just running around like, ‘Woo.’

“Sometimes you do become so relaxed that you are just sometimes sitting there with your knockers out, and you go, ‘Oh, right, okay, God, I’ve forgotten to put my robe on.'” She was helped on set by her crew, director and co-stars, while having intimacy co-ordinators on set meant there was a good atmosphere on set, with everyone sharing a group hug after a scene.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
