Davinia Taylor names Amazon detox buy she’s used ‘every day since lockdown’ Soap fans will undoubtedly recognise Davinia Taylor as a Hollyoaks legend, but these days the star is more about saunas than soaps. In an exclusive OK! chat, we caught up with the 46 year old to talk through everything from healthy living to biohacking, and we were struck by the big lifestyle changes the star has made in her years since stepping back from the small screen. Amid a well-documented battle with alcohol in her earlier years, Davinia quit booze, only to become addicted to carbs and put on weight, reaching 13st. Now, she feels healthier than ever – and it’s all down to lifestyle swaps. And the good news? Davinia is putting us onto one relaxing and detoxifying habit we can all take up in a bid to stay healthier for longer. “I’ve got an infrared sauna pod — it cost about £200 on Amazon,” she tells us. “It’s not as hot as a normal sauna and you get a deeper detox. I’ve used it every day since lockdown. I look forward to it like I used to look forward to a glass of wine. If I’m feeling a bit gnarly, I’ll lie on a spike mat for five minutes. The telly’s on by the way — I’m no Zen yogi.” You can shop Davinia’s infrared sauna pod for £209 (reduced from £225.35) from Amazon. Alternatively, you can also shop the pod in blanket form with this LifePro Portable Infrared Sauna Blanket for Fast Recovery for £149.99 . Both buys have glowing reviews from shoppers and offer similar settings, so it depends on your budget and on whether you want to lie down or sit on a chair during your infrared sauna sessions. We also ask Davinia what else she does to stay active. “I get up in the morning, drop the kids off, then my two insane dogs need a run. I do about 7k — they are my motivation. It’s quite hilly here and I listen to house music as I run, and I take our brain powder, which won’t break an intermittent fast,” she tells us. “I don’t eat anything in the morning — I don’t need to, I have all the amino acids I need in my tea or coffee. I mean, look at me — I’m not starving, I’m a decent 10st and I have one main meal a day. I don’t mind a carb coma in the evening, so I’ll have sourdough, root veg and potatoes.” And did she ever think 20 years ago that she’d be a wellness guru now? “ No, absolutely not. I didn’t realise it, but I was always biohacking,” she says. “I was always seeking light, I hated being in rainy conditions. I drank wine because it boosted my dopamine. I used to love going to a sauna, but then I’d have a glass of champagne and ruin everything. Now I just do it in a healthy way.” Well, looking at Davinia now, radiant and happy, we’re keen to jump on board her health train.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
