Privacy NoticeCelebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins star Anthony Ogogo has cheekily admitted that a bit of bedroom action has actually boosted his athletic prowess. The professional boxer, 35, is just one of the stars taking part in this year’s series of Celebrity SAS, with Anthony joining the likes of TOWIE’s Bobby Norris, Strictly’s Pete Wicks, actor John Barrowman and journalist Rachel Johnson. However back in 2015, Anthony – who won a bronze medal in Men’s amateur boxing at the 2012 Olympic Games – revealed one of the secrets to success in the ring is sex. Speaking to OK! in an exclusive interview with his then-fiancee Casey Wicks, Anthony said: “Before one fight I thought, let’s just do it, and we did, and the next day I knocked the guy out in the first round.”

Casey, who was Anthony’s fiancée at the time, was quick to chime in with a playful comment, adding: “I’d like to take credit for that!” The pair tied the knot in 2017, after Anthony proposed to Casey three years prior. Anthony also shared the sweet story of how their love story began, revealing they first crossed paths “in swimming class when we were seven”, but sparks didn’t fly until they hit 15. He recalled a pivotal moment: “I was meant to go to Disneyland Paris on a school trip but found out that Casey was doing sports instead,” he said. “So I stayed home to do what she was doing and we finally got together.” The loved-up pair got engaged in the Big Apple, with Anthony reminiscing about the proposal: “I’d been in Las Vegas for a boxing match last year. I was missing Casey and realised I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life.”

Ahead of filming Celebrity SAS, Anthony and Casey split up – and he has now moved on with Russian model and actress Tatiana Piper. The couple welcomed a daughter, Yesenia, on September 7. Celebrity SAS isn’t Anthony’s first foray into the world of reality TV, with the boxer taking part in Strictly Come Dancing’s thirteenth series back in 2015. Anthony was paired up with professional Oti Mabuse on the show, however the pair were the second to be eliminated from the competition. Anthony slammed the BBC at the time over his pairing, saying that he should not have been paired up with another black person. In an interview with The Sun, he said: “I didn’t think that the BBC would put us together because we’re black or mixed race. I honestly thought they would spread the minorities around.” He added however that his experience was “brilliant” on the show. “I want to thank Oti she has been amazing. I feel sorry for her because she got lumbered with me, I can’t dance and I’ve got a poorly little shoulder.
