Privacy NoticeCadbury have tasked chocolate connoisseurs with the incredible challenge of inventing a new flavour bar and three finalists have been announced. The confectionary giant revealed the results of the Inventor 2020 competition, which customers now have to vote on as their favourite before a final one is picked to join the permanent collection. They’re bringing out a blueberry flavour, a crunchy honeycomb and a coconut bar available from 8 July and are asking those who try it to vote for their favourite.

Each of the chocolate bar concepts were created by members of the public as part of the Inventor 2020 competition, meaning two of the three will be around for a limited time before one is made permanently available. Last years winner was Cadbury Choca-Latte, and this year there’s ‘Out of the Blueberry’ designed by mum of two Taylor from Leeds, who said her inspiration was her son who is “obsessed” with the fruit.

Taylor, 24, said of coming up with the sweet and fruity treat: “My eldest son is completely obsessed with blueberries and white chocolate – his love of the two inspired me to create the Out of the Blueberry bar. “The blend of sweet white chocolate and mouth-watering blueberries complement the milk chocolate to make a yummy snack for all to enjoy.” The Coconutty bar dreamed up by football fan and Northern Ireland native Gillian, who was inspired again by her children who love coconut.

And if you’re a fan of coconut and white chocolate then the Coconutty might be your preferred choice
Her milk chocolate bar contains coconut crumble and smooth white crisp pearls, she said of her creation: “My children and I are big fans of white chocolate and coconut. “After realising there aren’t that many white chocolate options in chocolate bars, the combination of coconut and white chocolate was formed to appeal to fresh coconut lovers who are dreaming of a tropical paradise this summer!”

And 19 year old Nottingham University student Shannon is the brains behind the Dairy Milk honeycomb crunch bar which combines milk chocolate and golden crunchy honeycomb pieces. It is also flavoured with caramel fudge as well as chopped hazelnuts for that extra crunch. Each bar is £1 (£1.49rrp) on promotion in Tesco stores from 8 July, before going on nationwide supermarket launch on 22 July.
