The pop icon’s life is set to dazzle on the silver screen as Universal has secured the rights to her memoir ‘The Woman in Me,’ promising a biopic that has fans on the edge of their seats. Helming the project is none other than Jon M. Chu whose directorial flair has brought us gems like ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ and ‘In The Heights,’ not to mention he’s at the wheel for the hotly anticipated ‘Wicked’ films. Britney herself whipped fans into a frenzy as she took to her X account, previously known as Twitter, gushing: “Excited to share with my fans that I’ve been working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt.” She continued with a hint of Hollywood sparkle: “He’s always made my favourite movies… stay tuned,” peppering her post with a playful rose emoji and the iconic movie camera emoji, reports the Daily Star. ‘The Baby One More Time’ sensation’s loyal followers swarmed the comment section with elation. A fervent fan exclaimed: “I’m excited to watch the movie.”

Biopics about musicians are definitely having a moment, with a slew of films chronicling the lives of iconic singers hitting the silver screen recently. Austin Butler channelled the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll in the 2022 Elvis biopic, Jennifer Hudson embodied the Queen of Soul in Respect, released in 2021, and this year saw the release of the Amy Winehouse biopic.
