Back in June, the Warwickshire-born recruitment manager, 33, dropped the bombshell that her baby daddy was the sibling of her co-star’s sister – Anna Maynard’s brother – who she acted alongside on the popular BBC programme. Charlotte made headlines when she was crowned mum-to-be while still in the limelight of the show, where she met Harry Clark, now Anna Maynard’s beau. Conor Maynard, famed for belting out Drake hits to his army of YouTube followers, was romantically linked with Charlotte Chilton after sparks flew post-Traitors finale at a club. Despite confirming that Conor was indeed the father-to-be of her first child, reports say he was hesitant to jump on board the daddy train.

Taking to her social media platform, new mum Charlotte shared the exuberant arrival of her daughter with an adorable caption: “Princess Penelope has arrived and we have been enjoying our ‘Penelope bubble’ so much,I am going to be off the radar for a little longer, whilst I enjoy these magical moments with my precious girl!! Thank you to all that have checked in to make sure I am ok! ! My heart is full xx.” The announcement follows Charlotte’s fierce declaration regarding her pregnancy and solo parenting journey, saying: “I’m doing this on my own. I don’t need him. I don’t need his money. I would only want him involved if he wanted to be,” reports the Mirror. She recounted how Conor seemed on board when she initially broke the news but allegedly grew distant once the conversation turned to co-parenting responsibilities. While chatting with Metro, she revealed: “The minute I started talking about co-parenting and being understanding of his work schedule, he obviously was a bit disappointed that I was doing that.” She even sent him baby scan photos and texted him “Feel free to respond whenever you’re ready”, showing her frustration at the situation.

Charlotte also expressed: “I’m prepared to do this alone, but I’m not prepared to have my daughter have to grow up and not be able to say who her father is, or should I say, birth father, or hide it from her. She deserves to know where she comes from. I’m not a secret, she’s not a dirty secret. I won’t be silenced. I am standing up for myself regardless of if it comes back to me. I just can’t do this be quiet, and shut up anymore.” During an emotional segment on Loose Women, when Gloria Hunniford inquired whether she wanted Conor involved in her child’s life, she confessed: “I’m always torn with what’s best for her. For me and my mental health, and the damage that he’s done to me, absolutely not.
