Privacy NoticeThe One Show has been temporarily put on pause following a major reshuffle of BBC’s timetable, with Roman Kemp and Alex Jones saying goodbye to fans for now. With the 2024 Olympic Games kick-starting in Paris, Beeb chiefs have decided to broadcast the sports spectacle instead of the popular teatime programme. The show usually enjoys its time in living rooms across the country every evening at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. However, Thursday’s episode marked the last one for a short break. The series is fronted by a host of stars including Alex Jones, Roman Kemp and Jermaine Jenas. In readiness for the Olympics taking centre stage, the programme is taking a “summer break”. Amplifying the change, the announcement came straight after Katy Perry graced the sofa to spill tea about her new record, Woman’s World, from her anticipated album, 143, reports the Mirror. The US superstar was the last celeb to occupy the iconic green couch, with her chit-chat being slightly curtailed as the clock ticked away. Wrapping up, Roman Kemp revealed: “Thanks so much to Katy Perry.” He broke the news of the unexpected hiatus, stating: “Enjoy the Olympics, see you on the 12th of August.” Alex chimed in: “Bye, have a nice summer,” as the curtain fell on the show for a while.

During the show, Katy gave fans a rare peek into her romance with actor Orlando Bloom during a candid chat on air. The Firework singer, who got engaged to the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star in 2019 after three years together, is known for keeping her personal life under wraps. Despite being one half of one of Hollywood’s most talked-about couples, Katy has kept mum about their wedding details for over five years.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
