Privacy NoticeBBC Gladiators is making a comeback for a second series and the line-up has reportedly been confirmed. The sports entertainment gameshow was given a fresh lease of life earlier this year with a new home on BBC. The reboot of the iconic 90s show introduced a new generation of Gladiators, and now the series is all set to return for a second season. Filmed at Sheffield Arena with father-and-son presenting duo Bradley and Barney Walsh leading the charge, the second instalment will start filming in August. BBC chiefs confirmed the show’s renewal for a second series just before the finale of series one, which saw Army officer Finlay and personal trainer Marie-Louise take the crown. The pair outperformed Wesley Male, and Bronte Jones to be named Gladiators champion 2024.

And now, the line-up for season two has reportedly been revealed and it’s set to include a fan favourite who had to withdraw from the first series, reports The Mirror. Fitness model and coach Comet (Ella-Mae Rayner) is set to be back on our screens after recovering from a severe injury that resulted in a broken foot and ankle.

In fact, all 16 Gladiators from series one are reported to be returning to the screen as they aim to defeat competitors from the male and female teams. Comet will be making her rumoured comeback alongside co-stars Giant (Jamie Christian Johal) and Bionic (Matty Campbell), as well as rugby player Fury (Jodie Ounsley), who made history as the first-ever deaf Gladiator.. The Gladiators reboot is set to be a thrilling watch with the reported return of professional sprinters Electro (Jade Packer), Phantom (Toby Olubi), and Fire (Montell Douglas), as well as the line-up’s youngest Gladiator, Dynamite (Emily Steel). Also rumoured to be returning are Viper (Quang Luong) NFL star Apollo (Alex Gray). Athena (Karenjeet Kaur Bains), a Guinness World Record holder, and bodybuilder Diamond (Livi Sheldon).

As well as long jumper-turned-YouTuber Legend (Matt Morsia), Scottish weightlifter Sabre (Sheli McCoy), who had to leave the first series due to a leg injury, the UK’s 2020 ‘Fittest Man’ Steel (Zack George) and Team GB sprinter Nitro (Harry Aikines Aryeetey) , reports the Daily Star. Dan Baldwin, Managing Director of Hungry Bear Media, expressed his excitement about the show’s return: “It’s no exaggeration to say that the response to Gladiators has been phenomenal. The episodes have been packed with nail-biting drama, thrilling action and huge emotion. Series 2 will see the show go from strength-to-strength. We have some amazing surprises in store for the fans.
